The Satire of Evil Petting Zoo Earns Laughs

For Evil Petting Zoo, the strength lies in the ability of the group to play of the ideas of other members.
"Improv definitely teaches you how to work collaboratively with other people for a greater good. In all the books we've read on the subject, and in all the workshops we've ever taken, the point is always emphasized that no one part of the group is more important than another," said Becraft.
The lessons of these workshops resonated with the members, as no one fought for stage time or looked to be the center of attention. This balance allowed the seven members to rotate on and off stage and provide fresh ideas to the mix.
"I think it was our best show of the year. The turn out was the biggest we've had, definitely," said Hines.
As the EPZ show occurred on Presidential Scholars Weekend, many prospective students mixed with regular attendees. Nathan Oral, a prospective from Colorado, was one of many who appreciated the show.
"It was awesome. I didn't expect them to be that good," said Oral.
Junior Ben Voorhurst agreed with Oral's opinion. "It's the first show I've been to all year. I think that the new freshman are exceptional."
Evil Petting Zoo will be performing again on Earth Day in collaborating with Green Week. They also hope to begin weekly performances at the ShoeBox, but the logistics of this is still pending.
